Ordering Details:

The standard thickness of dacron used by upholsters and furniture manufacturers is 1.25″ thick for cushions that are 3″ or thicker.
The 0.5″ is used for wrapping foam cushions that are < 3″ thick.
You can add one layer 1.25″ thick, use a different thickness of dacron or double it up for extra comfort in back cushions.
You can also use a piece of 2″ thick dacron, in the centre of a seat cushion, to give your seat a crown look of both sides.
Since dacron compresses easily, you do not need to make an allowance for the dacron when deciding on your foam size or thickness.

A)Application

Dacron acts as a cushioning layer around the foam. This polyester fibre makes it easier to fit the cushion into its cover, giving the edges a rounded look and preventing fabric wrinkles by ensuring the cushion is fully filled.

Dacron is available in a range of thicknesses and widths, allowing you to apply it to your cushions independently. The Dacron compresses easily, so you don’t need to consider its thickness when calculating the foam’s dimensions.

You can easily secure the Dacron to the foam using a spray adhesive bought from your local Calgary hardware store.

Curon HD	C2130	This foam is a preferred choice in the Upholstery trade for its superior seating comfort. It also makes an excellent mattress core, which can be paired with High Resiliency foam, Natural Latex, or Memory Foam toppers.
