Calgary, Alberta has undergone significant changes over the years, yet it has always held on to its rich Western heritage, blending it seamlessly with modern urban living. Foam Rubber Sales, founded in 1954, began with two locations—one on Yonge Street in Toronto and another in the east end. Their shop window featured a giant hand playfully squeezing a large piece of foam, while their charming slogan, “Foam Sweet Home!” was proudly displayed in an old picture frame.
Bill Collins, the original owner, believed that true comfort at home depended on having a quality foam seat or mattress. In 1990, FOAMITE in Vaughan began supplying Foam Rubber Sales with all their foam and mattress needs. Following Collins’ passing in 2002, FOAMITE acquired the business and continued to provide unique foam products and custom mattresses not typically found in ordinary mattress stores.
In 2020, the store closed its doors due to COVID-19 and a decline in foot traffic. Now, after a brief hiatus, we are thrilled to revive the legacy established by Foam Rubber Sales and continued by FOAMITE.
